In its first joint marketing hardware agreement, messaging technology provider Frontec AMT Inc has joined forces with Stratus Computer Inc, combining its AMTrix product with Stratus’ servers. The application messaging system, AMTrix will be marketed and sold along side the Stratus Radio clustering server for Windows NT and the Continium system for HP-UX. Frontec, Stamford, Connecticut hopes that the agreement will enable it to move AMTrix into new markets such as finance, where Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Stratus has proved itself to be prominent. AMTrix is described as a product where workflow and middleware meet and is said to address issues such as database integration, high volume transaction throughput and connectivity between internal and external systems. Stratus says that the introduction of AMTrix to its product directory will enable it to offer fully integrated electronic data interchange, electronic commerce and intelligent messaging solutions. AMTrix was first made available in 1986, and runs on Windows NT, Unix and AS/400. Frontec AMT is part of the Swedish Frontec Group, which went international two years ago.
