Commenting on its figures, Storage Technology Corp says it has now shipped 150 Iceberg storage units, up from 100 in mid-June and we continue to ramp production rates. Nevertheless Iceberg sales, while on target, represent only a small portion of revenue in a satisfying quarter, said chief executive Ryal Poppa. Our library and tape drive business remains solid and we are pleased with our continued penetration of this market, said Poppa.Some 8,000 36-track and 18-track units and upgrades shipped in the quarter, and NearNet storage manager support for Oracle and Sybase clients is planned.
