STOLLE ACQUIRES THE ASSETS OF CYBERDISK FROM ALCAN

The Stolle Corp, Sidney, Ohio-based subsidiary of Aluminum Co of America has increased its sputtered platter capacity by acquiring the assets of Cyberdisk from Alcan Aluminum Corp: the assets include its Anaheim, California headquarters and production sputtering systems for manufacture of 5.25 and 3.5 hard disk platters; Stolle also makes plated media and is an emerging supplier of thin film disks, supplying inter alia Maxtor Corp, Northern Telecom Ltd, Hewlett-Packard Co and Seagate Technology Corp’s Aeon subsidiary.
