STMicroelectronics has launched the STM32-comStick, a development platform in a USB stick that enables fast application design for STM32 Connectivity Line microcontrollers.
The company said that these microcontrollers, including the STM32F105 and STM32F107 families include ethernet, USB Device/Host/OTG, CAN and audio-class I2S peripherals to the advanced ARM Cortex-M3 core providing 32-bit processing and real-time behavior for embedded application requiring networking and communications capabilities.
The STM32-comStick includes Hitex HiTOP5 IDE/debugger and TASKING C compiler, a built-in GUI allowing control of the application, and a 72MHz STM32F107VC connectivity line MCU with 256KB Flash.
The company claims that the developers can plug the device directly into a PC USB port to evaluate the MCU communication peripherals and build, program and debug their own applications. No external components, software, or power supply are required.
The comStick concept provides a way to access microcontroller connectivity features. In addition to the STM32-comStick, ST also has the STM32-PerformanceStick for STM32 developers using 72MHz performance line devices with up to 512KB on-chip flash memory.
The STM32-comStick is available for a resale price of $69, directly from ST sales offices and distributors, and from Hitex.
