STET IN TALKS TO REPLACE TELEFONICA IF IT DEFECTS TO CONCERT

Italian state-controlled telecommunications holding company Stet SpA is in talks to replace Telefonica de Espana SA in the Unisource NV services consortium if Telefonica decides to defect to the MCI Communications Corp-British Telecommunications Plc Concert alliance, El Pais reported on Friday. Unisource declined to comment on the report.
