Customers of Comergent include organizations such as Cisco, Nissan, Sears, DuPont, AGFA, Goodyear and General Cable. They are users of the Comergent eBusiness System, a selling and distributed order management process management system that automates product and service configurations across channels around what can be sophisticated pricing and discounting models.

Columbus, Ohio-based Sterling, which operates as a subsidiary of AT&T Inc, said the product would be tied into the Sterling Commerce multi-channel order fulfillment software, to provide an end-to-end order fulfillment solution across the supply chain.

Comergent competes against the likes of Selectica and Trilogy and other specialist configuration players such as Firepond and Azerity.
