Steria, a consulting, systems integration and outsourcing service provider, and Capgemini France, a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, have been awarded a maintenance contract by Agence pour l’Informatique Financière de l’Etat (AIFE), the French Ministry of Budget and Government Accounting, Civil Service and State Reform.

The six-year contract, worth approximately €120m, is part of the French state modernisation program that is based on an SAP solution.

Under the agreement, the companies would modernise and rationalise budgetary and accounting process of French state service.

The services include an integrated information system that conforms to the Organic Law Relative to the Laws of Finance (LOLF) available to all stakeholders involved in spending, non-fiscal receipts and accounting for financial, budget and accounts management.

The companies said that the new information system will be used by approximately 50,000 users, of which 25,000 will use the core SAP application.

Capgemini France head of technology services Jean-Philippe Bol said their strategy was to accelerate their commitment to public institutions, by building on their international experience and ability to support the Administration in their large-scale modernisation projects
