STB UNVEILS NEW QUARTET VIDEO SERVER TECHNOLOGY

By CBR Staff Writer

STB Systems Inc has unveiled its new Quartet video server technology and Digital Video Subsystem products. STB’s Quartet is designed to deliver multiple streams of high-end MPEG-2 video decompression and playback for personal computer video servers. The Digital Video Subsystem technology will enable users to receive broadcastquality MPEG-2 full-motion video direct from Direct Broadcast Satellite service providers or other digital video sources. The data can then be displayed in a scalable window on a VGA monitor or a television screen. Quartet will begin shipping in May and the product will have a suggested retail price of $3,700.
