STB Systems Inc, Richardson, Texas has introduced a pair of sound and television video add-in boards for the personal computer. The ActionTV add-on enables input from cable television, VHF or UHF reception to be displayed directly on an iAPX-86 personal computer screen. Users can change the size of the video window or position it anywhere on the personal computer screen. It has closed caption display, stereo support output for CD-quality sound and supports NTSC, PAL and SECAM. The Sound Rage32 three-dimensional sound board uses Advanced Micro Devices Inc’s InterWave digital Wavetable synthesis microprocessor. It produces CD-quality 16-bit, 4KHz to 44.1KHz stereo sound and sampling performance with signal-to-noise ratio of 80dB. The board is compatible with MS-DOS and Windows95, SoundBlaster applications and MT-32 Musical Instrument Digital Interface applications; no prices were given.
