Startups have been given the chance to obtain free IT services for three months courtesy of a cloud service provider.
UK-based Managed Networks is offering 10 startups the equivalent of £15,000 IT provision for free, getting all the benefits of Microsoft Office and Exchange delivered from a secure data centre with 24/7 support.
The DesktopLive service would give the users access to their regular Microsoft Office applications from wherever they are, as well as being optimised for offline use.
Managed Networks CEO Ben Rapp said: "Small businesses are easy targets of security breaches and they can no longer afford to be lax with data security.
"In the last 12 months, the number of startups in the UK alone has increased by around 24%.
