TeamMessenger allows users to see Sametime presence information and launch IM chat directly from Outlook. The ability to receive an email and immediately respond via instant message is a feature common to some consumer online services.
The Beverly, Massachusetts-based startup, formerly known as Invitrix, said its intention is to release more products that integrate popular Microsoft applications with instant messaging platforms from other companies.
Integrating Lotus Sametime into Microsoft Outlook is the first step in our overall product strategy, said Instant president Peyton McManus. In the very near future we will introduce Instant products for the rest of the Microsoft Office family.
Instant said the product sells for $25 for an individual license, $200 for a 10-license pack, $460 for a 20 licenses and $2,200 for 100 licenses. Enterprises with larger needs can call the company for volume pricing.
