SS&C acquires assets of Maximis software from Unisys

To create a new opportunity to sell to existing and new clients

By CBR Staff Writer

US-based financial management software provider SS&C Technologies has acquired the assets and related business associated with Unisys’ Maximis software, an investment accounting software developed to meet the regulatory and management reporting needs.

Maximis is a real-time, intranet-enabled investment accounting application with comprehensive support for domestic and international securities trading.

The company said that it would continue to support the Maximis system and integrate the Maximis workforce with other SS&C experts to deliver an enhanced customer experience.

The tarnsaction is expected to create new opportunities to sell to existing and new clients. Rick Vrieling, vice president of Investment Management division at Pacific Life Insurance Company, said: Pacific Life is pleased to learn of SS&C’s investment in the Maximis programme and is looking forward to building a strong relationship with them. SS&C has been a leader in investment management solutions and in particular, insurance investment management technology. SS&C’s expertise coupled with Maximis’ robust functionality should lead to increased functionality and excellent customer support for us.
