Sprint Corp’s wireless communications division Sprint PCS, is in talks to franchise its services to other businesses, reports the Wall Street Journal. The franchisees are to use Sprint’s Personal Communications Services FCC operating licenses, and build the mobile phone networks and operate them under the Sprint name. The company is planning to announce licensees early in 1998. Sprint is also in negotiation with Motorola Inc and Northern Telecom Ltd to acquire equipment for its PCS mobile phone network.
