Spotify planning to launch its browser-based version

The browser based version will make Spotify more accessible with playlists available on computer that users log on to

By CBR Staff Writer

Digital music service Spotify is planning to launch a new browser-based music player app for its streaming service which was earlier being delivered through a desktop application.

As part of its redesign exercise the service will be available as a browser-based version, according to Telegraph.

The browser based version will make Spotify more accessible with playlists available on computer that users log on without having to re-download the programme.

In addition, the redesigned Spotify will focus on discovery, enabling users to keep a tab on what their friends are listening to.

The browser-based version will be usefuel for those people who can’t download software due to lack of hard drive space or download restrictions at work.

With the new version, users can now share songs on Spotify online much quicker.

Bypassing the desktop client will restrict some of Spotify’s features, like playing music in offline mode or installing apps.

According to reports the company is also considering to reduce the cost of its mobile app subscription.

Currently the company claims that the music platform has more than 10 million users and four million customers who have subscribed to the service.

Songs with advertisements can be accessed free while Add free songs can be availed against monthly fee.
