Sparkplug, a provider of wireless business broadband voice and data services, has acquired Phoenix-area business assets from MetroBridge Networks, including all customer contracts, network infrastructure and related assets.

The company said that it will integrate MetroBridge Networks’ wireless broadband internet assets into their Scottsdale corporate office. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Sparkplug said that the closing comes five weeks after the May 21, 2010, announcement of the acquisition agreement.

Michael Ruley, CEO of Sparkplug, said: "We selected MetroBridge because it was perfectly positioned to support our growth into Mesa and South Phoenix, and we are very pleased that the transaction was able to close so quickly.

"This significantly enhances our broadband coverage in that part of the Valley and provides immediate cash flow to Sparkplug. The transition is moving forward seamlessly as we support and enhance service for our new MetroBridge customers."
