Brampton, Ontario-based Spar Aerospace Ltd’s Spar Space Systems unit says it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sirius Solutions Ltd to explore business opportunities based on robotic technologies developed for the international space station in the fields of software development, maintenance and quality standards; the agreement stems from Spar’s licence from the Canadian Space Agency to bring to market Mobile Servicing System technologies to increase economic benefits for Canada; 60 such technologies in the marine, forestry, mining and automotive markets have been identified for a variety of applications, including machine intelligent robots, materials and lubricants, software producibility and simulation modelling, it said.
