The Spanish Association of Unix Users, established last November within the framework of EurOpen, is planning to step up its activities this year. The Association will promote Unix and the use of open systems through information, training and user groups. There are 28 partners and a further three organisations plan to join this month; in order to appear independent, the Association is pushing for links with universities rather than individual manufacturers. As yet, there is no set plan of action, but the Association wants the annual X Window System meeting to be held in Spain, as well as the spring 1993 meeting of the European Unix Congress.
