Kilgore’s office is attempting to extradite Jeremy Jaynes (aka Jeremy James and Gaven Stubberfield) from North Carolina following his being charged with four counts of using fraudulent means to transmit unsolicited bulk e-mail.

Virginia’s anti-spam law prohibits the sending of unsolicited bulk email by fraudulent means, such as changing the header information. Violations are treated as felonies, with maximum jail sentences of five years, if spam volume exceeds certain thresholds.

Stubberfield is listed as the world’s eighth most prolific spammer by SpamHaus, a UK-based anti-spam operation that profiles suspected spammers in its Register Of Known Spam Operations (ROKSO) database. According to ROKSO, Stubberfield is notorious for horsey-porn spam.
