Agfa HealthCare’s RIS/PACS/reporting tool, Impax Enterprise, will help Southern Regional Health System (SRHS) tie together various systems within the department.

Impax Enterprise, an integrated digital imaging and information application, is designed to facilitate and enhance the planning, capture, interpretation, distribution, and archiving of diagnostic images throughout the hospital enterprise. It includes an integrated radiology information system (RIS), picture archiving and communications system (PACS) and voice recognition reporting system.

The implementation will proceed in a phased approach with the RIS system expected to go live in July. The PACS system will be deployed across the facility and will include orthopedic and mammography capabilities.

SRHS is also putting in seven CR 85-X computed radiography systems with Agfa HealthCare NX software for its main radiology, intensive care unit, ER and neonatal intensive care unit areas.

SRHS is rapidly transforming the entire diagnostic imaging department from an analog environment to digital. said Danny Whitt, director of diagnostic imaging at SRHS. We expect Agfa HealthCare’s technology will help us streamline communication between departments and result in fewer repeated studies.
