SOUTH MALAYSIAN STATE OF JOHORE TO ATTRACT INWARD INVESTMENT

The South Malaysian state of Johore is so keen to attract inward investment that it is making land available at a mere 4 cents a square foot, and putting up a $600,000 contribution to the cost of building your plant to boot: it has been tramping around Europe, Taiwan and Singapore – yes even companies there now need to assemble off-shore – and the US, and has picked up its first taker in the shape of Avnet Inc of New York, which is investing $5m to set itself up in Johore.
