South Korea to invest $3.6bn in public sector IT

The government of South Korea plans to invest KRW 3.4 trillion ($3.6bn) in IT services projects over the next 12 months, up 12% on 2006.

The investment will fund close to 600 new government-led projects, including the development of electronic passports and the introduction of an RFID system for use at sea ports.
