It sounds like an Irish joke, but it was on the TV service of Radio Telefis Eireann so it must be true – there’s this Dublin company you see, called Europlex Ltd, and it has developed a personal computer-based security system that is so-o-o good that IBM Europe has installed it to protect its Paris premises – and is in very good company too, because the Louvre museum has also got one in – but IBM UK wouldn’t touch the thing with a bargepole; nothing to do with any British-Irish sibling rivalry, you understand, simply that the thing only runs on an Epson Personalike.
