SORBUS MAKES SURVEY OF THE PABX MAINTENANCE MARKET

By CBR Staff Writer

Bell Atlantic Corp’s computer maintenance offshut Sorbus UK Ltd has estimated that the PABX maintenance market in the UK is worth UKP35m a year, with equipment manufacturers and service companies jostling for share since British Telecommunications Plc lost its monopoly in 1984, and says that its survey of the market shows that large corporate PABX users would prefer maintenance to be unbundled from sales and installation agreements, with 55% of respondants now looking to buy their PABX equipment direct from the manufacturer; British Telecom remains the biggest PABX maintenance provider but Sorbus is the first third party maintainer to take a keen interest in the sector.
