Sony has announced the new line of low-end Vaio laptops in the NW series equipped with the Blu-ray disc technology.
The new laptop comes with 15.5-inch screen, HDMI output connector for playing video on a digital TV and an optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card. It also incorporates Intel Core 2 Duo processor architecture.
In addition to the Blu-ray technology, the model comes with the power conserving features. It is equipped with a ‘display off’ button which enables the user to turn off its screen while the notebook still continues to run in the background and an ‘instant’ internet button to launch into the web without waiting for the Windows operating system to load.
In addition, the NW comes with XBRITE-ECO LCD technology to enhance the clarity of movies and photos.
The new series incorporates three software applications, Vaio movie story software to produce own home movies, MusicBox software to play music based on one’s choice, and Click to Disc/Editor software for video editing and creation.
The new Vaio NW notebook is expected to be priced at $800 for the standard model and $880 for notebook equipped with Blu-ray Disc technology.
