By CBR Staff Writer

Fuelled by better-than-expected business with its News workstations, semiconductors and professional electronic equipment, and its pioneering role in erasable and Compact optical disk drives and related software, Sony Corp is expected to deliver consolidated net profits for financial year to March 85% up on those for last year, and similar growth is looked for in fiscal 1990: Sony is establishing four regional headquarters around the world to expand the electronic equipment it makes outside Japan to 30% of the total.
