Sony Ericsson’s upcoming Android phone specs leaked

The new smartphone ‘Rachael’ to be part of Sony Ericsson’s Xperi series

Sony Ericsson is working on the Google Android-based smartphone for some time, and now the photos and details have been revealed by a Danish site, Mobile.nu. The smartphone, code-named Rachael, is expected to be launched later this year as a part of its Xperi series.

According to the mobility site Mobil.nu, the new smartphone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform which would give the processor speeds of up to 1GHz and HSPA speed of up to 7.2Mbps.

The leaked pictures show that the new smartphone features a 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a mini-USB connector. In addition, the Rachael is expected to come with a pressure-sensitive screen that measures around 4-inches, diagonally.

According to industry sources, the new smartphone is going to be a strong contender against Android offering from other smartphone manufacturers like Motorola and HTC.

It is still unclear when exactly the new Sony Ericsson Google Android phone will be launched and on what version of Android it will run. However, there is a possibility that it will run on the upcoming 2.0 version of Google Android operating system, which is also expected to be released by the end of this year.
