Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications China will up its stake from 10% to 26%, while Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications will take a 25% stake in the firm. Sony Ericsson’s partners in the venture are China Putian Co Ltd, Nanjing Panda Electronics Co Ltd and Hong Kong Yung Shing After the deal, the operation will be renamed Beijing SE Putian Mobile Communications Co Ltd, and will be a manufacturing base for Sony Ericsson.
At the same time, Sony Ericsson’s China research and development centre is to be expanded into a global development unit, developing products and applications for China and international markets.
