SONY CREATES MINIDISK ELECTRONIC ORGANISER

By CBR Staff Writer

Sony Corp is determined to make its erasable optical MiniDisk a commercial success and it will just keep coming out with innovative products that use the thing until one of them hits the jackpot. Spotting that the big downside of the Filofax for busy people is filling the damn thing in and keeping it up to date, it has come out with a personal filing system that has a 9.5 liquid crystal display to view the notes that you have scanned onto the 140Mb disk using the companion scanner. It measures 12 by 10 by 2.2 thick, is $1,350 (ouch!) and Sony will make 5,000 a month.
