According to the company, this new series features next-generation technologies in camera, battery and design.

The flagship series was first launched in 2013 with Xperia Z1. Right now, the phones available in the Z series include Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium.

Though, being the flagship series from Sony, Xperia Z had had its share of issues.

Overheating, poor battery life, issues with microSD card, etc were some of the issues.

Xperia Z series sales have significantly dropped and this could be one of the reasons for Sony tried to discontinue Xperia Z series.
