SOLARIS WILL RUN ON INTEL PENTIUM PRO AS COMPANY NEEDS GOOD UNIX

Solaris is being optimised to run on Intel Corp-based Pentium Pro, P6, servers, reports Computer Reseller News. Partly in response to Microsoft Corp converting NT for R-series, PowerPC and Alpha, but also because Intel needs a well-tested, robust and highly-scalable Unix if the P6 is to fly as a server.
