According to Sohoware, the BroadSwitch portfolio includes gigabit ethernet (GigE) switches that support virtual local area network (VLAN), 802.1x, simple network management protocol (SNMP) and power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. The company claims that it supports voice over IP (VoIP), voice over Wi-Fi, wireless LAN (WLAN), wireless hotspot gateway, subscriber gateway, guest access, and open source internet security appliance for different industry verticals.

The company is offering these Ethernet switches under a reseller-direct program.
Sohoware’s competitor Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems also launched two similar switches for its small business series in February 2007. The SRW2008MP 8-Port 10/100/1000 managed gigabit switch with PoE is priced at $829.95, while the SRW208MP 8-Port 10/100 Ethernet switch is priced at $679.95.
