SOFTWAY WINS FUNDING FROM JAPANESE SUMITOMO GROUP

The Japanese Sumitomo Corporation Group has taken an equity stake in Softway Systems Inc, the developer of the Interex application (until recently known as OpenNT) that enables Unix applications to be run on Windows NT systems. Four Sumitomo companies participated in the investment, designed to expand Softway’s presence in Asian markets. Financial details were not disclosed. The four companies included in the investment were Sumitomo Corp, Sumitomo Corp of America, Sumisho Electronics Co Ltd and Sumitronics Inc.
