Software Pundits Inc, based in Burlington, Massachusetts, is shipping its Affinity object linking and embedding software for Unix, combining Microsoft Corp Object Linking and Embedding 1.0 application programming interfaces with the Link, Embed and Launch-to-Edit technology it jointly developed with Lotus Development Corp, enabling developers to create compound documents that include linked and embedded data from multiple applications across a heterogeneous networks. Affinity is priced at $7,500 and includes a client and server library, a daemon and Network Manager, the Object Linking and Embedding application programming interface and specifications, a Presentation Format Adaptor and communications adaptors for TCP/IP and ToolTalk.
