A major crime has been uncovered at a prison in the UK – but the people responsible are not the criminals behind bars. To the great embarrassment of the prison service, the Federation against Software Theft FAST uncovered widespread illegal use of software and has forced an unnamed prison to pay a 37,500 pound fine, according to the Daily Telegraph. FAST usually acts on tip-offs and the big question is who informed on the prison? Normally, convicts take a dim view of this kind of behavior, but they clearly make an exception where the authorities are concerned – especially when they can supplement their meager earnings with a fat reward from the leading software companies.
