SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS MAKES ITS MOVE TO JAPAN

By CBR Staff Writer

Software Development Systems Inc, the Lombard, Illinois-based developer of tools for the embedded systems market, has opened a sales and support office in Japan, following a $5m investment from Hewlett-Packard Co (CI No 3,379). SDS has staffed the office with management previously working at real time operating system companies such as Wind River Systems Inc and Integrated Systems Japan Ltd. SDS says it plans to make a serious push into the Japanese market over the next two years with tools such as its SingleStep product family of visual development and debugging tools. HP has a number of mutual customers and has integrated the SingleStep tools into its own embedded systems products.
