Privately-held Video Technologies Inc, the Cambridge, Massachusetts company that developed the TV Picture Print system previewed by Zenith Electronics Corp with Polaroid Corp (CI No 2,823), and holder of several leading edge patents, has been acquired by Richmond, British Columbia-based Software Control Systems Inc. Terms were not disclosed. Software Control plans to change the name of the combined companies to Video Technologies International Inc. As well as the patents on the system that enables prictures to be printed off a television screen from any source, Video Tech also holds a patent on a 16 by 9 analogue television. Software Control developed the MediaPlex 2000 entertainment box with audio, video and merchandising options.
