Software Carousel 3.01, which costs $90, provides memory relief and permits large MSDOS applications to run in the MSDOS task area when operating with Workstation Connectivity Memory Management Enhancement. The functions provided by Software Carousel and Workstation Connectivity Memory Management Enhancement can free up to approximately 400Kb to 500Kb of memory for application use. When used in conjunction with the Workstation Connectivity program, it supports Personal Communications/3270; PC/Host File Transfer and Terminal Emulator Program Version 2.1; PS/2 Expanded Memory Options; AS/400; and PC Support Release 2. Software Carousel enables the user to load up to 12 programs, and work with all 12 at once. Programs are stored in expanded or extended random access memory, or in a disk file while inactive. Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2.2, which costs $520 and is available from February 2, replaces Lotus 1-2-3 2.01. The add-in Manager has been built into Release 2.2 as a main menu item, and the user can hook or un-hook add-in functionality as needed. The Lotus Learn add-in has been built into Release 2.2 providing a method of recording keystrokes for macro creation, and Macro Library Manager add-in allows for off-sheet storage of macros. The user can run macros from the Macro Library Manager in the current file, and the library can contain macros, formulae, ranges or applications. Enhanced Step mode displays macro commands at the bottom of the screen as the user steps through the execution of a macro, which enables the user to test auto-mated routines and debug macros. Other features include file linking, search and replace, and spreadsheet publishing with the Allways add-in.
