The Eclipse Foundation is the open source development community that claims over 50% of Java developers use its framework.
Software AG said that all of the developer tools in its cross vision service-oriented architecture suite will be standardized on Eclipse, thereby providing a more unified and standardized toolset.
In addition, Software AG’s Natural 2006 development platform will also provide support for Eclipse, providing developers with a common development environment regardless of the tools they are using, according to the company. Natural and Java developers can work more efficiently towards common goals, the company stated.
It is our strategy to provide developers with one productive, coherent development framework for all crossvision components, said Dr Peter Kurpick, Software AG board member responsible for the development of crossvision. Eclipse is the ideal platform. More than 85% of our tools are based on Eclipse already; the full migration will be completed by the end of this year.
