By CBR Staff Writer

Yandex, has put its experimental application,Wonder App, on hold after Facebook blocked its API.

Recently, Facebook launched its own ‘graph search’ tool to take on Google and had blocked the Wonder app following its release.

Yandex said in a statement that Facebook believe the Wonder app infringes on its policies and access to the social network’s Graph API would not be restored.

"Since this access was revoked, we decided to put our application on hold for the time being," Yandex said.

"Wonder’s functioning, in its current state, as well as the quality of user experience it provides, largely depends on the access to Facebook’s Graph API.

"We will be considering partnership opportunities with other social networks and services to offer our users a richer internet experience via Wonder."

According to the Russian firm, it was mandatory for users to link the application to their Facebook account, while it is optional to connect the app with networks like Instagram, Foursquare and Twitter.
