Cloud client computing firm Wyse Technology has introduced new zero client Xenith Pro.

The new Xenith Pro provides high-definition HDX user experience, and combines with Citrix XenDesktop, to provide performance and security for office-based workers.

The zero client requires no local configuration or management, and has virtually no attack surface for malware, auto-discovers XenDesktop, and instantly launches a full Windows desktop, the company said.

The Xenith Pro features include: twice the processing power for Citrix HDX; support for dual high-resolution digital displays, with rotation; and unparalleled connectivity with 2 DVI, 6 USB and 2 serial ports so everything connects.

Citrix desktop division senior vice-president and general manager Gordon Payne said the introduction of Wyse Xenith at Citrix Synergy 2010 was a game-changer and the advances made in Wyse Xenith Pro will extend significant benefits to their joint customers.

"Zero clients provide a high-performance option for organisations delivering virtual desktops to office workers and the combination of the Xenith Zero Client and Citrix XenDesktop with HDX technology gives these users an unparalleled virtual desktop user experience that will help speed adoption of desktop virtualisation across the enterprise," Payne said.
