WSO2, an open source SOA company, has launched a new version of Mashup Server, based on WSO2 Carbon, a componentised service-oriented architecture platform.
The company claims that the new offering combines simplicity of mashups with the reusability, security, reliability and governance required for SOAs. It extends the enterprise scalability, flexibility and management of composite services.
According to WSO2, the Mashup Server 2.0, which builds on its open source Mashup Server, uses JavaScript language to describe logic to acquire information, analyse and combine it, and expose it to the user. The JavaScript programming model includes components that help acquire information from a range of sources, including web services, scraped web pages, Atom and RSS feeds, and local files.
The company said that the version 2.0 sits on the core Carbon framework that provides all WSO2 Carbon SOA components with management, security, clustering, logging, statistics, tracing, and a try-it wizard for testing services, the company said.
The new offering also uses a unified graphical user interface designed to help deploy, manage, and view services, processes, process instances, and statistics across any SOA components being implemented. Any components added to WSO2 Mashup Server 2.0 are automatically recognised by the core Carbon framework and unified management console, eliminating the complexity of integration, the company said.
