WorldPay implements VMware network virtualisation

The adoption allows it to offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service for developers

By CBR Staff Writer

UK based payment processing firm, WorldPay has implemented the VMware network virtualisation to support the user self-provisioning needs of application developers.

With the adoption, WorldPay can offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service for developers with increased speed that will speed up the time to market for new line-of-business applications.

The VMware network virtualisation will help WorldPay to create a virtual networks that could be completely decoupled and independent from the physical network hardware.

The payment processing firm had collaborated with the Cloud Fusion to design, build and implement a private cloud based on VMware infrastructure.

WorldPay Core Development global head Iain Blunden said that the company was looking for the flexibility to provide complex network architectures with minimal delay and lead times.

"With VMware network virtualisation, we have created an environment that significantly reduces our application development time while reducing both capital expenditures and ongoing operating costs," Blunden said.

VMware Cloud Networking and Security vice president Hatem Naguib said, "Large global enterprises such as WorldPay are combining the agility and flexibility of the cloud with the speed of Agile development methodologies to accelerate their businesses."
