Wipro Technologies, a global IT services business of Wipro, has delivered its Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting -Terrestrial, or ISDB-T, stack to Hirschmann Car Communication, a provider of hybrid TV tuners for reception of terrestrial broadcast analog television broadcasts.
The stack would be used for developing In-Car TV service for its Tier-1 car customers targeting the Japanese market, Wipro has said.
Dirk Wendt, head of business unit TV-systems at Hirschmann Car Communication, said: Hirschmann has been a key supplier of TV tuner solutions to major German automobile manufacturers. With this In-Car TV solution, we are looking to extend this leadership position even for the Japanese market. The engagement with Wipro for ISDB-T solution was in line with our strategic requirement to have a strong technology partner to meet the challenging Japanese In-Car TV market.
Nagamani Murthy, vice president of mobile consumer electronics and automotive group at Wipro Technologies, said: Hirschmann has incorporated our ISDB-T middleware stack and also sought our expertise in porting it to automotive target platform and integration of third party BML browser. We are delighted to be a part of Hirschmann’s global expansion plans.
