Windows Embedded Partner to integrate with Microsoft Partner Network

The integration will offer programmes and resources required by the partners.

By CBR Staff Writer

Microsoft has announced plans to integrate the Windows Embedded Partner Program (WEPP) with the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN).

This is an effort by the software company to provide partners including embedded device manufacturers, silicon vendors, designers, solution providers and systems integrators with an enhanced level of support that will be in sync with the growth potential of intelligent systems

Scheduled to start in late 2013, the integration will offer the scale of programmes and resources required by the partners to cope with projected business growth against the intelligent systems market opportunity, while offering easy access to the resources.

Microsoft Windows Embedded marketing and business development general manager, Barb Edson, said partners play a vital role in creating applications that address the needs of retail, manufacturing, healthcare and a range of industries.

"This move will provide them with added support and resources to create intelligent systems solutions that address their customers’ needs," Edson added.

The move follows a forecast from IDC, according to which the market for intelligent systems is expected to double from 2.3 billion units and $1.3 trillion in revenue in 2012 to about 4.6 billion units and over $2.3 trillion in revenue by 2016.

The MPN will also offer training, sales support and marketing.
