Webroot unveils new security offering for Internet users

Provides protection for Internet users and secures consumers identity, privacy and personal data.

By CBR Staff Writer

Internet security company Webroot has unveiled its new security offering, Webroot Internet Security Complete, which integrates Webroot’s enterprise-class cloud protection with technologies that secure consumers’ identity, privacy and personal data online.

The new offering will enable consumers to have secure personal transactions online and protect them from more than 40,000 new threats emerge every day, which traditional desktop security alone cannot do so, the company claims.

According to the company, Webroot Internet Security Complete delivers four key benefits, which include protection against malware and hackers using both desktop and security-as-a-service technologies; secure access to personal files and log-in credentials; multiple layers of identity protection; and all-new product design for fast and secure transactions.

Key features of the new offering include multi-layered malware protection that more effectively protects against viruses, Trojans, worms and rootkits; password manager that protects your passwords and provides secure form-filling; a Web portal ‘Webroot.com/mywebroot’ for making files secure and accessible from any browser; and cloud-based technology that instantly scans and classifies URLs.

The other features are completely new interface; 5x faster malware scanning; automatic malware scanning daily; automatic quarantine of malware; antiphishing; antispam and lost wallet service for US consumers; and compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems.
