Walker Systems Support, a provider of network management, security and computer support services, has launched its enhanced IT security service offerings.

The enhanced IT security offerings include IT security assessments, which provides in-depth analysis of all the components that play a part in the overall security of business from an IT perspective.

The vulnerability scans feature identifies known vulnerabilities in software or hardware configurations within select systems on user’s network and is situated as an interim measure between full security assessments to identify any issues that may have surfaced since the last full assessment.

The IT security awareness training is designed to educate users on the appropriate use, protection and security of information.

The company said that the IT security policy development provides the framework for the policies which are essential in any environment; without them employees have no reference for accepted practices or processes and can therefore not be held accountable.

Walker CISSP and IT security manager Scot Smailes said technology is always important in the security of corporate networks, but today’s new and emerging threats are also taking advantage of the weaknesses in the human element of network security.

"As a result, all information security programs should include components that address the human vulnerability in addition to the technical vulnerabilities in code and configurations," Smailes said.
