Volantis Systems, a provider of mobile internet and content enablement software, has opened a new office in Pune, India, driven by the increase in mobile internet development throughout the region.
Volantis allows operators to deploy portals and browser-based applications that leverage features of high-end devices, and also support access by an array of older, less advanced handsets still in use by many subscribers.
The company said that it will work closely with its customers and partners to enable them to meet consumer demand, maximising the user experience regardless of device whilst minimising deployment costs.
Mark Watson, CEO of Volantis, said: "Volantis has seen a substantial increase in the demand for our software and services across India from both new and existing customers over the past 6 months. We already have an in-depth understanding of the market through a number of strong partner relationships in the region, working with companies such as Bharti Airtel to deliver compelling mobile internet experiences to subscribers across multiple devices.
"It is our commitment to deliver local support to both customers and partners that has prompted us to expand our presence in India, and our expansion will help drive this market forward to its full potential."
