VMware, a virtualisation and cloud infrastructure provider, has announced the availability of VMware View Client for iPad on the Apple App Store for free.
Along with VMware View, the new VMware View Client delivers a modern desktop optimised for the iPad’s high-resolution multi-touch display. It allows Apple iPad users to access their virtual Windows desktops, applications and data from anywhere.
VMware said, VMware View enables enterprises to improve security and lower operating costs, while simplifying desktop administration and management by establishing a modern, end-user computing architecture.
VMware View Client features include modern desktop experience; intuitive, multi-touch support; secure, instant-on Windows desktops; and device and iOS Support.
VMware End-User Computing vice-president and general manager Christopher Young said the growing popularity of the iPad in business presents a new opportunity for enterprise IT organisations to empower their mobile workforces.
