VM6 Software has released a new version of VM6 Virtual Machine ex (VM6 Vmex), version 2.0. The new version leverages Microsoft Hyper-V to create an internal cloud to provision, consolidate, manage and protect remote office and branch locations (ROBO) workloads without the costs of other offerings.

According to VM6 Software, the new VM6 Vmex 2.0 version features include: new monitoring and alert capabilities integrated into the management console to allow administrators to use the pre-defined templates or build their own to capture errors and write in log files, send emails or run a script; and security settings for systems administrators to assign delegation to allow users to have read, write or limited access to a range of objects in the VMex cloud.

Other features include: a VMex virtual SAN rebuild function which automatically rebuilds a Virtual SAN in less than five minutes; install wizard to accelerate the installation of VMex on a two nodes cluster; and improved network components layer.

Claude Goudreault, founder and CEO of VM6 Software, said: “Enterprise leaders now seek solutions that make it easier to manage, provision, consolidate, and protect the workloads across all of their locations. VM6 VMex addresses the challenges of virtualisation adoption in remote office locations, providing an affordable and easy way to create a competitive advantage.
