Virtual Bridges, makers of the Verde suite for desktop management and provisioning, has released Verde Hosted Powered by Rackspace, which provides hosted desktop virtualisation offering for VDI, disconnected, and branch-office desktop users.

The company said that the Verde Hosted which complements Verde on-premise desktop virtualisation, addresses an organisation’s requirements for infrastructure, Capex and Opex budgets, and payment options. It can drive down total cost of ownership (TCO) beyond Verde on-premise, and offers virtual desktops in VDI, disconnected and branch-office modes.

The company has released the new product in three editions, silver, gold and platinum which support upto 100, 500 and 1000 seats, respectively. In addition, a paid pilot will be offered on a monthly basis that enables customers to transition to hosted desktop virtualisation.

According to Virtual Bridges, all Verde Hosted editions come with the Verde Suite, and a Rackspace managed and dedicated infrastructure including a Cisco firewall and VPN, IDS (only in Platinum), physical servers, and internal storage. Gold and Platinum editions also come up with NetApp storage offerings for Gold Master images and user data.

Jim Curtin, CEO of Virtual Bridges, said: Virtual Bridges is proud to once again set the bar for the market by delivering groundbreaking innovation to help organisations transform the total cost of ownership of desktop computing.

“With this announcement, we are extending our TCO leadership, improving our ease-of-deployment leadership and extending the functionality of our solution beyond anything available in the industry.
